Interested in hosting a BUNCH?
The BUNCH (Business + Lunch) Program provides a great opportunity for companies to directly interact with students from all years and concentrations of study. By hosting a BUNCH you will be increasing your exposure to a group of captivated and interested business and economics students who will eventually graduate and become potential career applicants. Speakers can bring promotional materials to be given out at the event, as well as signs and banners.
The SBESS can provide everything for the speaker's presentation including the venue, a digital projector, wireless microphone, and a unique logo. The SBESS will also market the event to all students within the School of Business and Economics through our numerous communication channels across campus and can even target specific years or concentrations if requested.
We ask that all speakers contribute to the cost of the food for the event. This cost varies depending upon the estimated size of the audience. BUNCHes are typically held on Wednesdays in the KPMG Atrium at the heart of the Schlegel Centre. They typically run from 11:30 am - 12:30pm to prevent conflicts with class schedules and ensure the highest turnout possible. An informal question and answer period usually follows the presentation where students can talk to the speaker directly. Topics of discussion are chosen by the speaker, however SBESS can assist in providing ideas. Past topics have included:
- Marketing Life Lessons From a VP's C.V. - Rob McPherson, VP Marketing, Bacardi Canada Inc.
- Networking Strategies and Job Search Tips - Chris Jones, Student Recruitment Manager, Sun Life Financial
- Innovation and Imagination and Business - Antoine Lejeune, Senior Manager, GE Canada.
- Entrepreneurship: What I Learned In and Out of Class - Panel Discussion Featuring: Greg Overholt, Founder and Executive Director of SOS, Matt Inglot, CEO of Tilted Pixel, Yvan Couture, CEO & Co-President of Primal Fusion Inc., and Mona Prasad, Founder and COO of Gourmantra Food Inc.
