The Wilfrid Laurier School of Business & Economics Students' Society (SBESS) would like to extend to you an invitation to participate in our second annual Charity Dodgeball Cup. The event will take place on Sunday, January 31st, 2010 from 12-4pm.

This exciting event is raising money for 5 Days for the Homeless, a national campaign aimed at raising awareness about the issue of homelessness and raising money for local charities. Specifically, the proceeds from the 5 Days event will be donated to two local charities who will be chosen by the SBESS 5 Days Team. In the past we have donated to Argus Residence for Young People and ROOF (Reaching Our Outdoor Friends); two Kitchener-based establishments that provide shelter and support to homeless youth in the area.

Funds will be raised primarily through team fees, which will be $100 per team. Teams can raise the funds in any manner, through team member fees, or other fundraising events. There will be a prize awarded for the team that raises the most money for Right To Play.

The tournament can only accommodate ten teams. Entry to the tournament will be awarded on a first come, first served basis. This event will fill up quickly so please RSVP before Friday January 22nd, 2010.

Team Structure
  • Teams must consist of at least 10 players
  • Two women must be on the court at all times
  • Each match-up will consist of three rounds, of seven minutes each
  • Eight players will play on the court during each round
  • No substitutions until each round is complete
  • Official rules being used are the same as WLU Campus Recreation rules

Team Fees
  • The entrance fee for each team is $100 minimum donation
  • Fees can be paid "per person" or as a result of a group fundraising initiative
  • Group fundraising is strongly encouraged
  • Teams can be a maximum size of 20

  • Round Robin Play & Elimination Round
